Actress Gehana Vasisth has suffered a massive cardiac arrest and had to be rushed to a hospital during a shoot. Her condition is said to be extremely critical.
The 31-year-old actress, whose real name is Vandana Tiwari, suffered a stroke on Thursday while shooting for a web series at Mumbai’s Madh Island. Doctors treating her suspect that her condition may have taken a turn for the worse due to working long hours without taking appropriate nourishment.
News agency IANS quoted a doctor as saying, “She is not responding to treatment and has difficulty breathing on her own. We have put her on a ventilator to ensure she has proper oxygen supply to her brain. You can describe her condition as extremely critical for now.”
One doctor said that she was brought to the hospital with ‘no pulse’ and extremely low blood pressure, reported India Today.
“From the preliminary information we have got so far, Gehana Vasisth was shooting for nearly 48 hours without consuming proper nourishment. She has been admitted to the Intensive Care section and we are doing a series of tests on her. She is suffering from diabetes and her sugar is on the higher side, while her BP is very low. We were told she consumed some energy drinks and was also taking medication for diabetes and some other ailment. We are not sure if there was any reaction between what she consumed. We have to wait for the results of all the tests,” doctor Pranav Kabra of Raksha Hospital was quoted as saying.
Gehana shot to fame with her bold role in ALT Balaji’s adult web series Gandi Baat. She also launched her own mobile application where she frequently posted her bold videos.
