The woman, identified as Sheetal Surywanshi, alleged that Ranbir had failed to honour the terms of the contract signed between them and forced her eviction from his plush apartment in Trump Towers in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar in October 2017.

Her lawsuit, filed in Pune civil court, claimed that when she moved into Ranbir’s flat, both had signed a contract agreeing for a minimum lock-in period of 24 months for a Rs 4 lakh monthly rent. The woman said that she had also paid a deposit of Rs 24 lakh to the actor in October 2016. However, Sheetal alleged that Ranbir served her an eviction notice just 10 months later forcing her to vacate the flat in October 2017.

“In said notice (email), it was falsely informed by the defendant (Ranbir) that he wants to shift into the said premises, and for this reason, plaintiff (Sheetal) was asked to vacate the premises in contravention of the terms and conditions of the leave and license agreement,” Mumbai Mirror quoted Sheetal’s lawsuit.

The woman has also sought damages worth Rs 50.40 lakh and an interest of Rs 1.08 lakh due to severe ‘inconvenience’ caused to her family because of the alleged breach of contract by Ranbir.

The Sanju actor has denied all allegations levelled by the woman and filed his response before the court. Ranbir’s response said that Sheetal had defaulted on her rent for three months and had vacated the flat on her own will adding that the rent for three months was adjusted from her deposit.

The case is set to be heard by the Pune court on 28 August next month.

Ranbir’s last release Sanjua Sanjay Dutt biopic, is has set the box office on fire with the film expected to cross Rs 400 crore mark.
