Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Tuesday issued summons as an accused to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia and 11 other MLAs, who are named in the charge-sheet by Delhi Police in connection with Delhi Chief Secretary alleged assault case.

They have to appear before the court on 25 October, reported news agency ANI.

In August the Patiala House Court had dismissed had dismissed AAP MLAs’ plea to restrain the Delhi Police from sharing information with media in the same case.

Delhi Police on 13 August had filed a charge-sheet in the alleged assault case of Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash. The cops had named Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and 11 other MLAs as accused in the charge-sheet.

In May, the cops had questioned Kejriwal in connection with the alleged assault on Prakash.

Prakash had alleged that he was assaulted by at least two AAP MLAs after he was invited by Delhi Chief Minister to his house for a midnight meeting.

The Delhi Police had questioned Kejriwal’s private secretary, Bibhav Kumar, in this case. Prakash had said that he was attacked by AAP MLAs after he arrived at the chief minister’s house for a meeting. He had said that VK Jain, former advisor to Kejriwal, was also present there. Jain had later resigned from his post as Kejriwal’s advisor after he gave conflicting statements to the police.

Prakash was allegedly assaulted during a meeting at Kejriwal’s official residence on 19 February.

Police have already questioned the 11 Aam Aadmi Party MLAs, who were present at the chief minister’s residence for the meeting. Two MLAs Amantullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal were arrested in the case.
