Saudi has received arms worth over $28 million from Germany in the last six months said a Turkish paper.
The Daily Sabah reported that Germany has recently approved arms exports worth $295 million to Saudi Arabia in contravention to the government’s own rules banning transfer weapons to countries directly involved in Yemen war, MEM reported.
The paper said it is believed that the government has approved at least 87 export permits for its alliance members between 14 March and 23 September, despite governments ban on selling arms to countries directly involved in Yemen war.
The arms export deal has been approved during the formation of the coalition between Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservative bloc and the Social Democrats in March.
A senior UN official had earlier warned that war between Saudi and Houthi militia would result in one child being killed in every ten minutes. The conflict has only escalated ever since it started in 2015.
