Isha Ambani, daughter of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, celebrates her first marriage anniversary today. She had tied the knot with Anand Piramal amidst huge fanfare exactly a year ago. Among those who had joined her wedding functions were hosts of Bollywood and Hollywood celebrities and politicians. The media spotlight on Isha became intense since her marriage on 12 December last year as paparazzi followed almost every move the billionaire daughter of Asia’s richest businessman. IVF baby bombshell
Soon after her marriage, Isha had appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine. Speaking to the magazine, she had made a startling revelation about herself and brother Akash. She had said, “My parents had us after seven years of marriage, my twin Akash and I were IVF babies. When my mother finally had us, she wanted to be a full-time mum initially. Later, she went back to work when we were five, but she was still a tiger mom.”
Isha had also revealed how she often fought with her mother with Dad Mukesh Ambani acting as a mediator. “I remember, whenever mom and I had fights, we’d call dad to resolve the issue. My mom was way stricter. If we wanted to bunk school, dad would be like “It’s no big deal” but mom would ensure we ate on time, studied hard and got our playtime as well. This was also confirmed by Nita Ambani, who told a website in 2011, “A few years after I got married, I was told by the doctors that I would never have children. Even when I was in school, I would write long, copious essays titled, ‘When I’ll be a mother…’ Here I was at the age of 23 being told that I would never conceive. I was shattered. However, with the help of Dr Firuza Parikh, who is one of my closest friends, I first conceived my twins!”
Shahid Kapoor, Mira Rajput become Isha’s neighbour
In September it emerged that Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Rajput will become the next-door neighbours of Isha Ambani in Worli after the Kabir Singh star bought a duplex for Rs 56 crore. Worli also happens to be the new residence of Isha Ambani, who was gifted a sprawling sea-facing bungalow Gulita, whose cost is estimated to be Rs 450 crore, was gifted to her by Anand’s parents as a wedding gift.
Isha declared ideal bahu after husband Anand’s alleged rude behaviour
When Nita and Mukesh Ambani hosted a lavish Diwali party this year for their IPL team, Mumbai Indians, the function received negative press because of alleged rude behaviour by Anand Piramal. This was after a video of Anand leaving her parents and wife to fend for themselves went viral with many calling him rude. In the video, Anand was seen rushing towards the party venue without caring to accompany his elderly parents and wife, who were slow to get out of their car.
Unaffected by Anand’s behaviour, Isha waited for her mother-in-law, Dr Swati, until she too had come out of the car. Isha matched her mother-in-law’s steps slowly and posed for the camera before entering the party venue. This earned her plenty of praise on the internet with many declaring her an ideal daughter-in-law.
Isha Ambani’s ‘Romance of Blossoms’
Last month, Isha emerged as a new fashion icon after Romance of Blossoms outfit by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla dominated the social media conversations. While sharing Isha’s photos, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla wrote, “Isha Ambani Piramal is absolute grace in custom Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. When Isha Ambani overshadowed Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
In November this year, big Bollywood names descended to the posh south Mumbai residence of India’s richest family, Mukesh and Nita Ambani, to attend the pre-wedding celebrations of the couple’s nephew Arjun Kothari. Prominent among them were Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput and Abhishek Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan among others. However, the two women who clearly overshadowed Mira and Aishwarya in their fashion game were Nita Ambani’s daughter-in-law Shloka Mehta and daughter Isha Ambani.
Isha was seen greeting and conversing with her guests in a sleeveless sharara-saree designed by Anamika Khanna at the event. Just like her sister-in-law Shloka, Isha looked stunning in her classy outfit with brown smoky eyes and soft pink lips.
Isha looked relaxed as she held conversations with her guests. Her relaxed mood at the pre-wedding party of her cousin was in sharp contrast with the serious role of a dutiful daughter-in-law that she was seen discharging at the Diwali function organised by her parents for the family-owned IPL team Mumbai Indians.
