Hyderabad: This year, the annual All India Industrial Exhibition (Numaish), will not have a Telangana State Urdu Academy stall in it.
The popular yearly event was inaugurated today at 5 pm, but for the first time, the Urdu Academy’s presence was lacking.
According to Exhibition Society President Eatala Rajendar, the stalls have been reduced this year to make space to improve fire safety measures.
“The Urdu academy has not even given an application in exhibition society to get a stall at Numaish,” informs a source.
Mohammed Mushtaq Malik, President of Tahreek Muslim Shabban (TMS) said, “For many years, the Telangana State Urdu Academy always organizes a stall for Urdu lovers at Numaish. The Urdu academy’s stall use to have Urdu prose, poetry, exclusive books on Hyderabad’s rich history, and literature on different topics.”
It comes as a surprise to Malik that this year the Numaish won’t have an Urdu stall.”
