SKJMCC 60th anniversary celebrations started in Kollam

Kollam: The 60th anniversary celebrations of Samastha Kerala Jam’iyyathul Mu’allimeen Central Council (SKJMCC), an association of Sunni Muslim scholars in Kerala, started here at K T Manu Musliyar Nagar on Friday.  The programme upholds the motto “Religious Education for World Peace” and a flag hoisting marked the formal launch of the event. 60 flags were hoisted and Moulana Mufti Shareeful Islam Saheb, president of Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama- Karnataka, inaugurated the opening ceremony. Former MLA Yunus Kunju, presided over. Speaker P Shreeramakrishnan released the souvenir of the conference. Higher Eucation Minister K T Jaleel, P V Abdul Vahab MP, AICC general secretary K C Venugopal, MLAs Anwar Sadat, N Shamsudeen and Shafi Parambil were present at the event.

Heralding the celebrations volunteers’ march was held in Kollam town on Thursday. The march that started at QIC Nagar culminated at Ashram Maidan. 2500 members of Thwalaba , Viqaya and Amila, group of volunteers under Samastha Kerala Jam’iyyathul Ulama, participated. March was flagged off by former MLA Yunus Kunju.

Prominent personalities from various fields will talk at the sessions which are being conducted as part of the conference. The three day long program will end on Sunday evening.
